My name is John E.R. Jasen, and what the "E.R." stands for depends on whether or not I consider you friend, foe, or food. I am a perpetual student at UMBC (U Made a Bad Choice), currently considering pursuit of a degree in Information Systems. Expected year of graduation is 3010.

I have interests in US politics, history, specifically European and East Asian, reading just about anything, writing fiction, fantasy, and gothic horror, computers, fast cars, good music, antique weapons and weaponsmithing, the rapier, shooting and firearms, religion and philosophy, anything to do with the water, eating good foods [Chinese!], cooking good(?) foods, heckling William Jefferson Clinton and Republican-bashing.

I stand for:

• general equality:
  I do not believe in personal or professional discrimination on: race, creed, sex, religion, ethnic background, sexual preferences or handicap. Personally, as long as they have an open mind, I try to. Professionally, I do not have the time to meddle in other people's personal life. As long as they get the work done and its legal, I do not care what they do outside of the office.
• the United States Constitution:
  Laws are there for a reason, and I believe that the Constitution is our best example, to date, of a working government by the people, for the people and of the people. I am especially enamoured of the Bill of Rights, and do not take lightly efforts to tread upon them.
• the right to keep and bear arms:
  While it is amongst the other nine items listed in the Bill of Rights, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms needs to be explained: It is not about hunting. It is not about pheasants, ducks, quails, deer, bears, foxes or rabbits. It is about people. "Us" vs. "Them". "Us" comprises every American citizen. "Them" is made up of anyone who would do "us" harm -- whether it be a tinpot terrorist dictator, a 19 year old gangsta' disciple in downtown Baltimore or a government who has decided that some of the citizenry is too inconvenient to be allowed to exist. As long as there is a threat, the People ("us") must remained armed and viligant against it.
