My SO's first handgun was the diminutive SIG 230 in .380, sitting in the used case at my local gun store, begging for a new home. I thought a low-recoil, easy to shoot round would be just the thing to introduce her to shooting. Well ... it didn't work out that way, because soon after she started shooting, my Beretta 96FS disappeared from my range box, and a firearm looking suspiciously familiar turned up in hers. :-) However, we both have shot the SIG 230 quite a few times and have to say that we are generally impressed. The recoil impulse is noticeable in such a little gun, but hardly a bother. The accuracy is hard to believe, 2 inch or under groups at 8 yards. We've never had a jam, sneeze, failure to feed, stutter, hiccup or burp out of this gun -- only booms! Amusingly enough, as my SO stole my 96FS, I found myself putting more and more rounds through the 230, with it growing on me at an increased pace.
