I did say that I was going to work some more on this gun, and then decide whether or not to ditch it, a little over two months ago. Unfortunately, getting the time to go shooting has been rather problematic. [Home life, the busy political season, or just sitting down to shoot when the pager goes off -- pick one!] So, finally, I was able to snag some 3D 125 grain reloads, a box of Golden Sabre 115 grains, and go to work. Before I did this, I dismantled the P11, inspected it for burrs or other imperfections, and relubed it, courtesy of the guidelines on www.ktog.org. This process did seem to help, at least in the function category -- as I only had one failure to extract [which needed to be chased out with my swisstool!]. Accuracy? Well, to be fair, Monday was a long day, and it just may have been me. Still, six inch groups at 25 ft is somewhat embarrassing! Shooting pleasure? It left some to be desired. 9mm, out of such a little beast can be painful. [Almost more felt recoil than my Rossi 677 .357 snubbie!]. Still, with one failure to eject, rather than several failures, the firearm is now at least in the 'possible' category for a concealed piece. [crosses fingers firmly to wish for CCW in Maryland.] More news as I work with the P11. -- -- John E. Jasen // DNRC Ambassador to Earth \\ jjasen1@umbc.edu -- -- My views are those of the DNRC only.
